MOEDT about mental health
MOEDT is an event that aims bring attention to mental health among youth, to break barriers and taboos and create an invoronment in which it is deemed normal and safe to talk about one’s issues with peers and professionals alike. The event combines music, poetry and art in is held in the beautiful central hall of Utrecht Public Library. There’s no entry-fee, so the event is accessible for everyone.

The job
The event needed a distinct identity that envelops the goals of the event. Yes, it’s gonna be fun, but there’s a serious undertone. It’s not all ‘just entertainment’. Also it has to stand out and be original and communicate. Media consist of narrow cast screens within the building, but for the most part posts on online social channels.

The result
Based on the original art of one of the initiators, Lenny Van Hout, Mick created a very graphic and recognizable event-style. It has spray paint elements and heavy graphic shapes, inspired by the likes of Max Kisman and Peter te Bosch. Stylized hands remind of an embrace that everybody needs every once in a while. There’s also a character in the shape of a mask that can be both interpreted as a friendly, happy wink but could also be seen as a bit grim. All combined in a classic punk color scheme it makes for a recognizable and loud event-style.
